How to Score in Bridge

Scoring may not seem to be as fun or interesting as the card play and bidding, but it can be vitally important to our tactics. Is it better to bid one more time and declare, or to defend their contract? As declarer, do we play the safe line for 8 tricks, the slightly risky line for 9 tricks or the very risky line for 10 tricks? Is it vital that we double our opponents or should be be cautious to avoid doubling them into game unless we’re certain? To make these decisions we will need to know our scoring.
