Taking Our Opponents Down

Length: 10 minutes

When our opponents bid too high and we take them down, we get points for every trick under their goal they finish. So, if they bid to 3H but only make 7 tricks, that’s 9 – 7 = 2 undertricks. The suit and level of contract are not relevant to the scoring, only the number of undertricks. However, their vulnerability does matter. We score more for taking them down vulnerable than non-vulnerable.
